The Lord of the Rings; the Fellowship of the Ring.

J.J.R. Tolkien

Before the film and Merchandise, there was a book. A book that has more depth and imagination than any book out there. Tolkien did not only write the trilogy but also made a language called elvish; which has sub- languages within it. Known to fans as Sindarin pronounced SIN-DAR-RIN. you also put 'pressure' on the SIN because it is a word with three syllables.

Anyway, the story of this first tale includes a young Hobbit named Frodo, which is Bilbo Baggins's Nephew. Frodo is presented with a ring and has to undergo destroying it. This leads him and the fellowship,( Gandalf the grey, Aragorn son of Arathorn, Legolas of the woodland realm, Gimli son of Gloin, Boromir son of Denathor and the four Hobbits, Merriadoc Brandybuck, Perigrin Took, Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins.) into many Perils through the mines of Moria, The forest of Lothlorien and Ammuin muil ( Sorry for the spelling, folks!) it leaves the reader both devastated and happy at the same time. I certainly wanted to go to the next book.

I would Recommend this to older readers for the language used is a bit complicated. However i must say this would be a great idea for a Bedtime story to the children.
