The Lord of the Rings - Return of the king.

 J.R.R. Tolkien

In this book we follow the remaining of the fellowship into different places of Middle Earth. Frodo and Sam into Mordor along with Gollum. Merry, Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli with King Theoden and his armies. and finally Pippin and Gandalf the white to Minas Tirith to the steward, Denathor, who is Boromir's Father.

This book I have only read once so details are lost on me, however I love it all the same and will recommend it to any reading the trilogy.

The lord of the rings-The two Towers.

J.R.R Tolkien.

The Two Towers is the second book in the Trilogy and we follow Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli in their hunt for Merry and Pippin. We do this for the most part of the book. We see battles and temptations in this roller coaster of a book and at the end you will mentally say... ' Two down, one to go.'

On a scale of one to ten I would rate this book a 7 :) So enjoy!:)

The Lord of the Rings; the Fellowship of the Ring.

J.J.R. Tolkien

Before the film and Merchandise, there was a book. A book that has more depth and imagination than any book out there. Tolkien did not only write the trilogy but also made a language called elvish; which has sub- languages within it. Known to fans as Sindarin pronounced SIN-DAR-RIN. you also put 'pressure' on the SIN because it is a word with three syllables.

Anyway, the story of this first tale includes a young Hobbit named Frodo, which is Bilbo Baggins's Nephew. Frodo is presented with a ring and has to undergo destroying it. This leads him and the fellowship,( Gandalf the grey, Aragorn son of Arathorn, Legolas of the woodland realm, Gimli son of Gloin, Boromir son of Denathor and the four Hobbits, Merriadoc Brandybuck, Perigrin Took, Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins.) into many Perils through the mines of Moria, The forest of Lothlorien and Ammuin muil ( Sorry for the spelling, folks!) it leaves the reader both devastated and happy at the same time. I certainly wanted to go to the next book.

I would Recommend this to older readers for the language used is a bit complicated. However i must say this would be a great idea for a Bedtime story to the children.

The Hobbit.

by J.J.R. Tolkien

Where to begin? I first read this when i was about 12 years old, having watched the Lord of the rings and the first hobbit I thought it was the right time to read it.

Tolkien starts off the book with a brief description of what the map meant at the beginning, all  the runes of it ant how it linked it to the epic adventure you were about to read. similar to the book the film starts off with a hobbit talking about a hole in the ground. in this part the film follows the book to the T. Durin ( get it ) the first chapter we are introduced to a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins we are also made aware of what a hobbit actually is. All of this happens within a space of 3 pages and just reminds us all of Tolkien's talents.

After this, still on the same chapter, we are introduced to Bifur, Bofur, Bomber, Dori, Nori, Oin, Gloin, Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Thorin. These are the dwarves that will turn poor Bilbo's life upside down. We are also Introduced to Gandalf the Grey. you may recognize this name from the Lord of the Rings and you may be saying,' He is not the Grey anymore... he is the white duh!' but May i just remind you, that the Hobbit takes place before the events in the Lord of the Rings.

After all the introductions, we are swept away on an adventure through middle earth. To places such as Rivendale, The goblin tunnels , Beorn's house , Mirkwood and an elvish city ran by Thanduiel the king of the woodland realm. This all leads to a nasty dragon named smaug who sits on the dwarf's treasure. It is Thorin son of Thrain son of Thror king under the mountain that takes it upon himself to reclaim their homeland.

I recommend this book to all ages and I think it is a great start to Tolkien's work. To finish i will say this ... I first read it when I was 12 I am now 16 and have read it a total of 16 times.
